Yesterday at the extraordinary meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the European Parliament we gathered to talk about the relations between Russia and Ukraine (Moscow introduced a trade bloc against Kiev). We described this situation very thoroughly, not as a trade war but as a beginning of geopolitical struggle of Russia to gain control over the former USRR countries.
What struck me the most was the suggestion of Krzysztof Lisek, Polish deputy representing Civic Platform (PO) in the EP, to award President Putin a Nobel Prize. The one in medicine. With regard to his contribution in opening the European Union’s eyes and enabling us to see what the real ambitions of Moscow are at this territory.
Afterwards, similar speeches were given by Vitali Klitschko and Arseniy Yatsenyuk. We can expect a relevant resolution in Strasbourg, however, there has already been a clear signal sent from Brussels: the European Union will not agree for imperial practices.
